FIELD: gas and oil industry, particularly for pipe string gripping and holding thereof in suspended state when carrying out lowering and lifting operations.
SUBSTANCE: elevator has arc-shaped body with through axial orifice and link connected to body. Fastening unit has fixer and curved flaps fixed by fingers kinematically joined to spring-loaded handle. Elevator also has blockers having facets, outer and inner stop surfaces and groove. Outer stop surfaces of flaps contact with stop surfaces formed in body and prevent flaps from being opened outside. Inner stop surfaces of flaps cooperate with blocker facets and prevent flaps from being opened inside. Grooves provide additional flaps securing when cooperating thereof with drilling pipe. Fixer has arm in which blockers are connected. Flaps are pivotally joined with pushers, which are in turn fixed to spring-loaded handle. Spring constant of handle spring exceeds that of fixer spring.
EFFECT: increased operational reliability.
