FIELD: multiple-service networks affording transfer of traffic of various kinds.

SUBSTANCE: proposed switching method designed to transfer data, voice, and video signals, and the like over networks using different methods for channels, messages, bursts, and locations is characterized in that during transmission channel data blocks transferred from network terminal device to intermediate switching center are first stored, then sorted out in compliance with desired direction of transmission, constant-length data blocks are grouped in common-heading data stream and disposed in equal-length cycles; variable-length data blocks with headings at each variable-length data block are grouped in cycle time intervals remained upon disposition of constant-length data blocks, their routing being made in advance; mentioned data stream is transferred over communication channel, and data blocks received in network terminals and in each switching center are divided into groups in compliance with direction of transmission and desired service classes related to respective connection and sorted out by separating constant- and variable-length data blocks from cycles.

EFFECT: enhanced switching speed range and improved quality of servicing traffic of all kinds.
