FIELD: agriculture, in particular, selection, may be used as quick-test method for evaluation of large amounts of selection material.
SUBSTANCE: method involves counting ears in ear and counting flowers in mid portion of most developed ears during earing-flowering phase; considering plants with number of ears in ear exceeding 28 and number of flowers in ear exceeding 9 as feed plants; considering plants with number of ears in ear less than or equal to 23 and number of flowers in ear exceeding or being equal to 9 as grain plants; considering plants with number of ears making 24-27 and number of flowers in ear less than or equal to 8 as fodder-grain plants. Method allows demanded plants to be selected at early selection stages.
EFFECT: increased efficiency and reduced time and labor intensity for selection process.
