METHOD FOR SURGICAL TREATMENT OF ESOPHAGEAL ACHALASIA Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: medicine, surgery.

SUBSTANCE: one should mobilize abdominal, intrahiatus departments of esophagus, cardia, lesser curvature and bottom of the stomach by keeping stems and the main branches of vagus nerves. One should descend esophagus into abdominal cavity, perform gastrotomy along the greater curvature, introduce suturing apparatus with dissecting blade into an opening, branches of apparatus should be separated, one branch should be applied into esophagus, another one should be left at gastric bottom. One should perform incision with this apparatus at simultaneous suturing along the both edges of incision, moreover, the line of tissue dissection is located in frontal plane, and the line of suturing - in sagittal plane. The method enables to decrease destruction of smooth musculature and improve functional results of operation conducted.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of therapy.
