FIELD: petrochemical process catalysts.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to catalysts containing supported molybdenum and/or tungsten compounds with or without additives of one or several transition metal compounds. Object off invention is to develop high-activity sulfide catalyst using no sulfidizing agents. The problem is solved by a specific composition of catalyst containing supported active component in the form of polymetallic compound comprising molybdenum and/or tungsten composition having general formula {MnSmOx(H2O)y}, wherein M represents Mo and/or W, n=1-6, m=1-24, x=0-12, and y=0-6, in combination with one or several transition metal compounds. According to the first embodiment, catalyst is prepared by consecutively attaching to the catalyst surface first molybdenum and/or tungsten compounds with sulfur-containing ligands and then one or several first transition series metals. According to the second embodiment, catalyst is prepared by consecutively attaching to the catalyst surface first one or several first transition series metals and then molybdenum and/or tungsten compounds with sulfur-containing ligands.

EFFECT: increased catalyst activity.
