FIELD: petroleum processing and petrochemistry.

SUBSTANCE: catalyst contains 60.0-90.0% ferro-aluminosilicate with zeolite ZSM-5 structure and silicate module SiO2/Al2O3 = 20-160 and SiO2/Fe2O3 = 30-5000; 0.1-10.0% modifying additive selected from oxide group: copper, zinc, gallium, lanthanum, cerium, and rhenium; 0.1-5.0% stabilization additive: boron oxide and/or phosphorus oxide; and alumina as binding agent (in balancing amount). Catalyst is formed during heat treatment process at 500-600оС for 0.1 to 24 h. Conversion of C2-C12-hydrocarbons is carried out in particular of this catalyst at 300-350оС, feedstock volume flow rate 0.5 to 5.0 h-1, and pressure 0.1 to 1.5 MPa.

EFFECT: increased activity and selectivity of catalyst.
