FIELD: military equipment; methods of firing non-guided projectiles from covered fire positions.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method is used for obtaining enhanced accuracy of firing of self-propelled and towed gunnery systems, infantry combat vehicles and tanks; method is based on use of ballistic station which determined drop of velocity on trajectory section. When ballistic and aerodynamic characteristics of projectile and drop of its velocity after first shot are known, initial velocity and deceleration factor are determined by method of minimum squares taking into account effect of head or tail wind, change in density of air and atmospheric pressure. Then sight angle is corrected by firing charts depending on results of initial velocity and deceleration factor.
EFFECT: reduction of error in ballistic preparation.
