FIELD: analytical chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: method includes preparing a sample, detecting nitromethane with a piezoelectric sensor made on the basis of volume acoustic waves by preliminary modified active sorbent, introducing equilibrium gas phase of the sample to be analyzed into the detecting cell, recording analytic signal from the sensor. The active sorbent is made of a multi-layer film produced from the solution of arachidic acid of 4.5 10-4 - 5.5 10-4 mol/dm3 in concentration at a temperature of 20-23oC and pH 5.5-6, the number of monolayers being 10-40. The surface pressure of the monolayer transfer is 23 mN/m, and the velocity of the movable barrier is 10 mm/min.

EFFECT: enhanced accuracy and sensitivity.
