APPARATUS FOR TRANSPORTATION OF PATIENTS ON VEHICLES Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: equipment for transportation of patients and invalids in horizontal position.

SUBSTANCE: apparatus has frame with horizontal bed, supporting legs and device for reducing longitudinal inertial force acting upon patient. Said device has columns arranged in parallel with one another at both sides of frame ends. Columns are made of equal length and pivotally connected with frame for rotation in vertical plane along long side of frame. Longitudinal axes of columns in their upper parts make acute angle with bed surface at front end of vehicle and their length exceeds length of supporting legs. Leg ends of columns are equipped with devices for pivotal attachment with floor of vehicle. Axis of rotation of pivotal attachment device is extending in parallel with axes of pivot hinges, which connect columns with frame. Frame is additionally coupled to vehicle floor through damper, whose ends are pivotally secured with frame and vehicle floor.

EFFECT: reduced longitudinal loading upon patient during braking of vehicle owing to redistribution of power force uniformly over patient's body so that it is substantially in vertical plane perpendicular to bed surface.
