FIELD: mining industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention is designed for storing coal liable to self-ignition. According to proposed method raw material is placed on base of pile and coal is consolidated by wheels of dump trucks. Base of pile is located on slightly inclined surface and banked up over contour, and when winter comes, base is frozen from surface with removing snow cover and then ice layer, thickness 15-20 cm, is frozen and covered with heat insulating layer which is removed directly before piling of coal and than is used to cover formed part of pile.
EFFECT: increased time of forming of raw material pile.
