FIELD: mining industry; applicable in storage of self-heating minerals. SUBSTANCE: method includes disposing of mineral by successive layers on pile base. In the course of pile formation, coal layers are compacted by wheels of dump trucks. Protective interlayer is arranged between layers on all sides of layer and is formed from porous ice with thickness of 10-15 cm by spraying water through medium of cold atmospheric air. Thickness of upper enclosing layer of mineral is taken equal to depth of maximum seasonal thawing in given region and thickness of internal layers is taken not less than 2 m. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 1 cl, 4 dwg
