SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device and method for removing N2O in manufacturing nitric acid. Device is placed behind heat exchanger after combustion of ammonia and before absorption column and comprises a catalyst that includes mainly one or more iron-loaded zeolites. Zeolites as components of a catalyst are taken among the group MFI, BEA, FER, MOR and/or MEL. The iron-loaded zeolite of type ZSM-5 is used as a catalyst mainly. In realization of method the temperature of reaction gas is from 350oC to 600oC, the content of NOx in reaction gas is from 3 to 17 vol.%, the content of steams in reaction gas is from 10 to 20 vol.%. Reaction gas is passed over catalyst at volume rate from 2 000 to 200 000 h-1. Method provides high degree of N2O decomposition being in spite the high water content and without loss of activity of the catalyst.
EFFECT: improved method for laughing gas removing.
