FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the development of structural high-strength steel designated for making welded constructions. Steel comprises components taken in the following ratio, wt.-%: carbon, 0.16-0.21; manganese, 0.95-1.30; silicon, 0.20-0.35; nickel, 0.30-0.70; chrome, 0.40-0.65; molybdenum, 0.20-0.30; vanadium, 0.03-0.08; boron, 0.0005-0.0050; aluminium, 0.030-0.060; titanium, 0.01-0.03; nitrogen, 0.005-0.015; iron, the balance, in accomplishment of the following ratios: N/(Ti + 0.5Al + 10B) ≤ 0.14 and Mn + Cr + Mo + 10V ≥ 17. Invention provides enhancing hardenability indices and providing the complete penetration hardenability of thermally improved sheets of thickness below 50 mm and bar rolled products below 65 mm.
EFFECT: improved and valuable properties of steel.
