FIELD: jet engines.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes absorbing of sound energy by screen made in form of rigid through open from top and arranged along gaseous jet coming out of jet nozzle into which on-coming air flow is directed. Device to reduce noise of jet engine includes screen made in form of rigid trough open from top and installed after jet nozzle to pass gaseous jet from jet engine along the through and over the trough. Open space between inner surface of trough and jet nozzle of engine provides free passing of oncoming air flow together with gaseous jet from jet nozzle along screen trough.

EFFECT: reduced noise intensity over ground surface.
