METHOD FOR DETECTION OF NARROW-BAND RADIO SIGNAL Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

Abstract RU 2237261 C2

FIELD: radio engineering, applicable in radio direction finders, dispersed reception systems functioning in the conditions of interference unknown intensity.

SUBSTANCE: the method consists in reception of a signal with the aid of a two-channel receiving device, whose channels are tuned to the signal frequency, amplitude detection and accumulation of squares of the signal envelope of each channel during the whole time of observation, at the same time the product of the signal envelope of the receiving channel is simultaneously produced and accumulated, the accumulated value is squared, divided by the product of the accumulated values of squares of the signal envelope of the receiving channels and compared with the threshold, whose value is preset proceeding from the permissible level of false alert and the quantity of non-correlated signal readouts, determined as the product of the time of observation by the width of the signal spectrum.

EFFECT: provided detection of narrow-band radio signals at an unknown intensity of noise with a probability of correct detection not worse than 0.9 at a probability of a false alert not exceeding 10-2 -10-3 and a signal-to-noise ratio being not less than 5 to 7.
