FIELD: radio engineering; signal transmission and reception in code-division systems using adaptive antenna array.

SUBSTANCE: base station generates directivity pattern in backward channel and directivity pattern in forward channel for mobile station in compliance with chosen criterion. In forward channel directivity pattern is generated in response to backward-channel signal. Generation of directivity pattern in forward signal depends on evaluation of mean angle of signal arrival and its angular sector, or on evaluation of mean angle of signal arrival only. Decision function implementing suppression of high-power noise is proposed for taking decision on angular area of useful signal.

EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness in severe noise-signal environment with heavy noise and random angular spectrum of useful signal and noise.
