FIELD: radio engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio engineering, particularly to methods designed to estimate radio channel in multi-frequency radio communication systems incorporating several transmitting and receiving antennas. Channel estimation is performed by pilot-symbols in 2D frequency-time range via adaptive separate interpolation. In compliance with the proposed method, interpolation order depends upon estimates of Doppler frequency and channel frequency response pulse length. First, interpolation is performed for range that features higher channel variation rate. This allows, after the 1st interpolation, to increase the number of symbols and, hence, interpolation quality in the range that features higher channel variation rate.

EFFECT: higher accuracy of estimation.
