METHOD AND NASODUODENAL PROBE FOR DECOMPRESSING DUODENUM Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: medicine; medical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: device has tube containing one more tube introduced into it. The external tube has diameter of 5-6 mm and has proximal and distal group 20 cm far from each other, each having 4-5 holes. The internal tube has diameter of 2-4 mm and has 4-5 holes at the end. The tubes are manufactured from polyvinyl chloride. Duodenal stump decompression method involves introducing nasoduodenal probe and sucking out the contents. The nasoduodenal probe is arranged in a way that the distal group of external tube holes are in the inferior horizontal portion of the duodenum lumen and the proximal one in the stomach. Rarefaction of 0.15-0.30 kg/cm2 is produced in the internal tube of the nasoduodenal probe. Duodenum contents suction is carried out during the first 2-4 days in postoperative period.

EFFECT: adequate, full-valued duodenum stump decompression.
