FIELD: non-ferrous metallurgy; production of aluminum by electrolytic method in electrolyzers; compensating for effect of magnetic field on end electrolyzers.
SUBSTANCE: proposed unit has cathode busbars connecting the end electrolyzers in rows and compensating busbars; direction of current in compensating busbars is opposite to that in cathode busbars. Used as compensating busbars are sections of cathode busbars connected to end electrolyzers through compensating busbar on one side; on other side they are interconnected forming equipotential unit. Cathode busbars with compensating sections have similar length and cross sectional area and are located at level of metal in end electrolyzers.
EFFECT: optimization of magnetic field and smooth and stable distribution of current in time; increased productivity of electrolyzers.
