FIELD: textile industry, in particular, twisting of threads, ropes and other twisted articles by coiling of two-component thread or double twisting of thread or threads.
SUBSTANCE: method involves charging threads into one end of opening of immovable end of flexible resilient member; drawing threads without twisting from other rotating bent end of flexible resilient member in such a manner that one thread is drawn laterally of bent end and other end is drawn through end of bent end of flexible resilient member; rotating bent end of flexible resilient member around horizontal axis of said member while charging side thread drawn laterally of said member end into semi-spiral channel on cylinder rotating together with bent end of said member; during rotation of cylinder, providing engagement of thread with immovable catch tongue and separating side thread from catch tongue after rotation of cylinder through 180 deg to form spiral loop; rotating loop around horizontal axis at doubled angular speed; rotating second thread drawn through end of bent end of flexible resilient member without engagement with catch tongue at constant angular speed together with cylinder; drawing threads through cylinder opening; connecting threads with one another in thread guide and twisting by actual twisting procedure. Double twisting method involves charging one or several twisted threads into one opening of immovable end of flexible resilient member; drawing said threads through other end bent at an angle and rotating around horizontal end of flexible resilient member; charging thread of twisted threads into semi-spiral channel on cylinder rotating together with bent end of said member; during rotation of cylinder, providing engagement of thread or twisted threads with immovable catch tongue; after rotation of cylinder through 180 deg, separating thread or twisted threads from catch tongue to form spiral loop; rotating said loop at doubled angular speed; drawing thread or twisted threads through cylinder openings and further through second opening on immovable end of flexible resilient member while twisting by double twisting procedure. Following joining of threads results in actual twisting procedure, i.e., coiling or double twisting.
EFFECT: increased efficiency owing to elimination of bobbin, spool, cartridge mounting and removal operations, reduced number of winding operations, reduced dimensions and weight of twisting device, and decreased power consumption.
