SUPPORT FOR WORKING IN ARMCHAIR OR BED Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: manufacture of support used for working, taking food and performing medicinal procedures.

SUBSTANCE: support has panel used as alternative to working seat for people incapable of seating at writing table and tied to armchair or bed. Panel is supported by leverage mechanism. Support is further equipped with set of devices for attachment of leverage mechanism to rests. Panel has strip and electric illumination device. Levers are made of two pipes, which are telescopically inserted into one another and provided with members for fixing their length and for securing from rotation of pipes around their longitudinal axes. Said devices are made in the form of screws and tips made from material softer than that of internal pipe and attached to screws. Pivot joint pins are made in the form of screws equipped with plate-like springs located inside pivot joints. Devices for attachment of leverage mechanism to rests are provided with clamping parts. Panel may be readily repositioned for setting it in desired position.

EFFECT: wider operational capabilities owing to increased space allowing patient to use support, increased convenience and simplified construction.
