FIELD: multi-stage continuous boiling-down of polymer solutions.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method is performed by use of recuperative heat exchange by passing the polymer solution through shell-and-tube heat exchanger connected with separator. First, solution is concentrated to 60-75 mass-% at one or at several stages and then it is concentrated to 95 mass-% at the subsequent stage. Used as polymer is polycarbonate at residual content of bisophenol A lesser than 5 ppm. Device proposed for realization of this method is provided with shell-and-tube heat exchanger at first stage and/or coil-type tubular evaporator connected with separator; its next stage is provided with shell-and-tube heat exchanger connected with separator.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of removal of volatile components from polymer solution.
