FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to thermal separation of solution composed by thermoplastic polymer and solvent. This solution is heated at overpressure to above the solvent critical point and, then, decompressed in high pressure separator. Note here that formed are the phase with high content of polymer and the phase with low content of polymer. The former is fed into the mixer. Pressure difference at the mixer inlet causes the instant thermal evaporation in the mixer to make the heavy phase polymer increase to at least 70%. Obtained solution with high content of polymer is fed, particularly, that distributed, at least partially, along the mixer shaft length part. Said mixer is located inside said space to heat the polymer bulk by the energy of mechanical mixing. This ups the polymer portion to above 70%.
EFFECT: higher molecular mass, decreased amount of fine particles, higher efficiency, lower residual content of unwanted volatile substances, electric power saving.
