FIELD: farming mechanical engineering; food industry; drying shredded fruit, vegetables, and beet pulp.
SUBSTANCE: drying unit has a number of belt conveyers parallel-mounted in chamber, pencil agitator, drive mechanism, system for heat supply to product of drying, control console, pickup for uniform distribution of products of drying on upper carrying side of conveyer belt; adjacent conveyers are installed for rotation of belts in opposite directions; odd-numbered lines of conveyers are equally displaced lengthwise toward pickup; screening shields are mounted in turn-over area; two lines opposing flow of dried material are provided for supplying heat to drying chamber; first line runs to outlet of third conveyer and second one, to outlet of last conveyer in vicinity of discharge port. Boiler plant waste gases are used as heat-carrying agent for the purpose and reliable contact is ensured between drying product and heat-carrying agent.
EFFECT: enhanced stability of beet pulp drying, reduced power requirement.
