DEVICE FOR DEFINITION OF COMPOSITION OF A MIXTURE OF SUBSTANCES Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

Abstract RU 2238793 C1

FIELD: measuring technique.

SUBSTANCE: the invention may be used in measuring technique. The device contains a vacuum chamber 1, which includes a source of ions 2, insulators 13, the basic separator 14 of positive ions, a padding separator 21 of negative ions, the basic receivers 19, 20 of positive ions and the padding receivers 26, 27 of negative ions. The basic separator 14 is made in the form of the funnels installed one in another with alignment in their wide parts and formation of a clearance between their lateral surfaces. Receivers 19, 20 of the light and heavy positive ions are located in the field of the greatest clearance between the lateral surfaces of the funnels 15 and 16 and are made in the form of pockets. A padding separator 21 similarly to the basic separator 14 has funnels 22, 23 and receivers 26, 27. Funnels 15, 16, 22 and 23 are made with a possibility for running of constant direction electric currents and are supplied with slit type cuts. Separators 14 and 21 are located symmetrically. The source of ions 2 is supplied with a through hole with outlets 11, 12 and includes a ionization chamber 3 and electrodes 4, 5, 6,7,8, 9 and 10. The electrode 4 has a zero potential. Electrodes 5 and 6 accordingly cut the clouds of positive and negative ions. Electrodes 7, 8 and 9, 10 form the drawing out electric fields for positive and negative ions accordingly. Outlets 11 and 12 are directed accordingly to separators 14 and 21. The source of ions 2 is placed between separators 14 and 21 in the field of alignment of funnels 15, 6 and 22, 23. The invention allows to separate isotopes not only by weight, but also by the sign of ions charges: light positive ions are collected in the receiver 20, heavy positive ions - in the receiver 21, light negative ions - in the receiver 26, heavy negative ions - in the receiver 27. The amount of stored ions of each kind is registered according to magnitude of the corresponding ionic current.

EFFECT: the invention allows to separate isotopes not only by weight, but also by the sign of ions charges.
