FIELD: mechanical engineering; lifting and transportation machinery.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of diagnosing steel lifting wire ropes. Proposed method includes cutting out of sample and unlaying wire rope into strands. Sample equal in length to not less than two pitches of laying is cut out of wire rope under testing, wire rope is layed into strands and, before laying out, sample is coated with paint and mark is made on outer surface of wire rope in form of straight line parallel to longitudinal axis of wire rope sample making at least two marks on each strand. Then each strand from side of marks is brought in contact with plain surface to get two imprints of marks and then strand is turned along plain surface without slipping through angle not less than 360° to get following two imprints of the same marks and imprint of helical spiral of strand. Imprints, thus obtained, are connected by straight lines parallel to direction of turning and length of imprints of helical spiral and length of straight lines for each strand of layed out wire rope are measured and maximum relative deviations of lengths of imprints of helical spiral and length of straight lines of strands are calculated and maximum relative deviation of lengths of straight lines is compared with maximum tolerable deviation of diameters of wire rope, and maximum relative deviation of length of imprints of helical spirals is compared with maximum tolerable deviation of ultimate strength of wires in wire ropes, including distortion of helical spiral of each strand.
EFFECT: improved reliability of sorting of steel wire ropes.
