FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises portionwise accumulation of melt in upper broadened part of through crystallizer until fusion mirror achieves level higher than broadening commencement point by 0.05-0.12 ingot diameter, whereupon melt is aged, stretched, and allowed forming ingot in lower cylindrical part of crystallizer, fusion mirror diameter being defined during ageing in upper broadened part of through crystallizer in terms of expression: D ≥ d+60 wherein D is fusion mirror diameter during ageing in upper broadened part of through crystallizer, mm, and d is diameter of ingot formed in lower part of crystallizer, mm.
EFFECT: improved quality of ingot due to improved refining conditions and excluded possibility for crown to get into metal in the form of splashes and sublimate, and improved lateral side of ingot.
