FIELD: measurement technology; determination of amount of petroleum products contained in reservoirs.

SUBSTANCE: proposed level gage includes boom with self-contained capacitance-type level sensors connected to respective scanning pulse switches, converter unit including capacitance-voltage converter and micro-processor unit and computer unit with level calculation unit. Capacitance-type level sensors are made in form of set of profiles of printed circuit boards located opposite each other at fixed backlash between them; said printed circuit boards are provided with input and output electrodes. Computer unit with level calculation channel has channel of built-in monitoring devices which is connected in parallel with level calculation channel. Each set of printed circuit boards with input electrodes includes definite number of input electrodes of self-contained capacitance-type level sensor located at permanent clearance between input electrodes. Boom of capacitance-type level gage consists of two profiles with printed circuit boards and capacitance-type level sensors located in them. U-shaped profiles have bases in form of two beads lying in one plane parallel to cross-piece of U-shaped profile. Profiles are interconnected by means of detachable joints located in parallel relative to each other through beads at permanent guaranteed clearance. Formed on both sides inside profile are mounting slots over entire length of profile forming fixed shield clearance and boom assembly.
