METHOD FOR DIAGNOSING PERMANENT TOOTH ENAMEL DEMINERALIZATION Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

Abstract RU 2239357 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: method involves determining functional caries resistance level of healthy teeth tissues. Permanent tooth enamel demineralization is diagnosed with bracket from intensity of electric current passing through hard dental tissues. Control points are selected on vestibular tooth surface. Point 1 is in pericervical area. Point 2 is near the cutting edge. Point 3 is positioned laterally from bracket edge. One month later, initial demineralization stage is diagnosed as follows. Current intensity of maxillary teeth of medium resistance level is equal to 0.05-0.07 mcA in point 1, to 0.02-0.04 mcA in point 2, to 0.02-0.04 mcA in point 3; the current intensity being equal to 0.18-0.22 mcA in point 1, to 0.071-0.071 mcA in point 2, to 0.12-0.16 mcA in point 3 in the case of low resistance level. Current intensity of mandibular teeth of medium resistance level is equal to 0.113-0.127 mcA in point 1, to 0.047-0.053 mcA in point 2, to 0.065-0.12 mcA in point 3; the current intensity being equal to 0.17-0.25 mcA in point 1, to 0.01-0.12 mcA in point 2, to 0.17-0.19 mcA in point 3 in the case of low resistance level.

EFFECT: high accuracy of hard dental tissues condition diagnosis.
