FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to dentistry. A source of ultraviolet radiation with wavelength from 370 to 400 nm is used. What is used is an operating microscope with a cutoff threshold optical filter (CTOF) with a wavelength range of 450-750 nm. UV radiation is directed onto the analysed tooth, and an image of the analysed tooth is obtained using a surgical microscope. Degree of tooth enamel demineralisation is determined on the obtained image. When observing the bright blue-green fluorescence of the entire enamel surface, the conclusion is made that the enamel is healthy. If light grey spots are observed against the background of bright blue-green fluorescence of the enamel, a mild degree of enamel demineralisation is diagnosed. If grey spots are observed against the background of bright blue-green fluorescence of enamel, moderate degree of enamel demineralization is diagnosed. If dark grey and black spots are observed against the background of bright blue-green fluorescence of the enamel, a pronounced degree of enamel demineralisation is diagnosed. If observing the visually detected microscopic defects of the enamel, a severe degree of enamel demineralisation is diagnosed.
EFFECT: method enables more accurate detection of early clinical signs of enamel demineralisation, promotes more accurate differentiated diagnosis of the degree of involvement, enables to prescribe well-timed treatment.
