MILL FOR MAKING AUGER SPIRALS Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: plastic working of metal, possibly cold rolling of spirals of augers used in different branches of industry.

SUBSTANCE: mill for making spirals of augers has outlet guide that may be changed in housing of mill. Mechanical transmissions of drive system from common engine to rolls are separately arranged over and at side of mill stand housing. Lateral transmissions for transmitting motion to rolls directly through their bearing assemblies in stand housing are arranged in opposite sides of stand housing. Common engine of drive system is mounted in stand housing. Damping weight is arranged in addition over upper backup roll; said weight is provided with elastic member that may continuously press onto upper backup roll with possibility of adjusting said effort of pressing. Mill also includes system for feeding lubricating and cooling liquid into contact zone of rolling rolls and worked band material.

EFFECT: enhanced quality of auger spirals, improved operational condition of using mill.
