GUIDE UNIT OF ROLLING STAND OF WIDE-STRIP ROLLING MILL Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: rolled stock production, namely guide unit of rolling stand of wide-strip hot rolling mill.

SUBSTANCE: guide unit of rolling stand of wide strip rolling mill includes upper and lower entry and outlet guides mounted at side of strip inlet to stand and at side of its outlet from stand. Upper guides are mounted by means of axles jointly mounted in struts on lengthwise supporting beams arranged between rolling stands. Upper guides have cross slits closed at outer side of guides by means of manifolds for supplying cooling water to strip. Said manifolds are arranged on entry and outlet guides at left and right sides relative to axles. Axle for mounting upper entry guide is hollow one and it also serves for supplying water. On upper outlet guide at left side from axle there is manifold provided (as said hollow axle) with branch pipes for supplying cooling water to rolling rolls. Manifolds and hollow axle are communicated through pipelines with common pump station for supplying cooling water to rolls and to strip.

EFFECT: effective cooling of rolled strips and working rolls, improved quality of rolled stock, enhanced efficiency of mill, increased strength and lowered wear of rolling rolls of rolling mill.
