FIELD: industrial organic synthesis.

SUBSTANCE: hydrocarbon substrate is diluted with inert diluent and dilute substrate is then stirred with gaseous fluorinating reagent to form foamed reaction mixture. Further, fluorinating reagent is brought into reaction with substrate to form foamed fluorinated product, which separated into gas component and liquid component, the latter containing fluorinated material as desired product. This product is recovered from liquid component and remaining liquid is returned into dilution stage, while gas component is combined with fluorinating reagent for being recycled into stirring stage. Installation is a circuit comprising in series connected dilution stage, stirring stage, reaction stage, and separation stage, further containing liquid return means to return liquid from the separation into dilution stage and gas recycle line to recycle gas from the separation into stirring stage.

EFFECT: enhanced process efficiency and increased yield of product.
