FIELD: railway transport; permanent way.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mechanization of equipment used at railway transport and it is designed for machining ties and can be used at pre-impregnation treatment of ties at tie impregnation planes and at repair of ties. Proposed device has parallel conveyors with successively located processing positions with reversing spindle heads arranged between conveyors with possibility of shifting from one conveyor to the other. Said heads are used for drilling holes in ties, cutting thread and turning in screws. Device is provided also with mechanisms to cut off heads of screws turned into tie. Each conveyor is made in form of chute with endless chain with pushers arranged along conveyor axis, pushers being installed at pitch exceeding length of tie and corresponding to arrangement of processing position. Each conveyor at tie receiving position is equipped with at least two spring-loaded cradles designed for receiving the tie and arranged across chute on its support surface. Each cradle is provided with chamfer over its length from base to upper surface at side opposite to pusher. Mechanism to cut off heads of crews turned into ties is made in form of saw blade mounted flush with side surface of tie from side of screw turning-in with tilting to side of tie movement. Lower end of saw surface of saw blade is installed lower than lower surface of screw head, and upper end is located higher than upper surface of screw head. Invention provides reliable placing of tie on conveyor, quality surface of part of screw remaining in tie and combined operations of screw head cutting and transportation of tie on conveyor.
