SUBMERSIBLE PUMPING UNIT Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: oil producing industry; hydraulic machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to built submersible pumping units, mainly centrifugal and screw pumps with protection from sludge settling at stopping of pump. Proposed submersible pumping unit has pump, tubing string and sludge trap which contains sludge pipe placed inside tubing string with formation of annular chamber. Said chamber communicates with inner hole of sludge pipe through holes made in sludge pipe wall and forming at least three rows in which holes are approximately equally spaced over circumference of sludge pipe. At least one row of holes is located lower than designed level of sludge accumulation in annular chamber when pump is stopped.

EFFECT: improved reliability and increased service life of submersible pump owing to provision of possibility of washing out sludge settling in sludge trap when pump is stopped.
