FIELD: instrumentation engineering; automation means and control systems.
SUBSTANCE: mass spectrometer that has electron gun, ion collector, acceleration grid, two deflector plates, ejecting pulse generator, and two grounded grids is provided in addition with one more grounded grid, deceleration grid, and field-compensating grid newly introduced in no-field space between grounded grids, as well as with cutoff grid inserted between accelerating grid and first grounded grid. Deceleration and field-compensating grids are connected to cutoff voltage generator. Ejecting pulse generator, cutoff voltage generator, deceleration voltage generator, deflecting pulse generator, data receiving and processing unit, and electron gun are connected to synchronization unit outputs and display unit is connected to data receiving and processing unit. Proposed design makes it possible to handle particles of masses ranging between 1 and 10 000 amu.
EFFECT: enlarged range of atomic mass units of handled particles.
