FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of mass spectrometry, primarily for space research and for use in other areas subject to severe restrictions on mass and dimensions. The method is based on pushing the ions from the accelerating period of non-linear field and rejection of ions in field-free space of two pairs of deflection plates that generate dynamic electric field.
EFFECT: increase in the resolution and sensitivity of time-of-flight mass-spectrometers operating in the mode of separation of mass lines.
