DUST-IMPACT MASS-SPECTROMETER Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

Abstract RU 2235386 C2

FIELD: production of dust-impact mass-spectrometers; space industry.

SUBSTANCE: the invention is dealt with the field of production of mass-spectrometers used for space studies. The dust-impact mass-spectrometer additionally includes four toroidal deflectors made of the internal deflecting electrodes 6 and external deflecting electrodes 7 located on the opposite side of the target 1 . At that the inputs of the toroidal deflectors are combined with each other and with a hole in the center of the target and their outputs - with corresponding holes on a the periphery of the target; an immersion lens consisting of a grounded grid 4 and a reflecting grid 3 and located at the focal distance from the working surface of the target 1; an indication unit 14, an amplifier 9, an electronic switch 10 and a source of deflecting voltages 8. The target is connected to an amplifier input 9 and to output of a source of a changed in time pulse voltage 11. The input of the electronic switch 10 is linked to the amplifier output 9, and its output - with an input of the source of the changed in time pulse voltage 11. Outputs of ions receivers 2 are connected to the inputs of the ionic spectrums processing unit 13, output of which is connected with the indication unit 14. The reflecting grid 3 is connected to the voltage source 12. The immersion lens grounded grid 4 and a the ejecting grid 5 are under a zero potential and the internal and external deflecting electrodes of the toroidal deflectors are connected to outputs of the source of deflecting voltages 8. The device allows to determine with a high-resolution composition of micrometeorites and dust particles of small concentrations.

EFFECT: the invention allows to determine with a high-resolution composition of micrometeorites and dust particles of small concentrations.
