FIELD: mass spectrometry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of mass spectrometry. The time-of-flight mass spectrometer contains a pulsed ion source made in the form of three flat electrodes parallel to each other and an electron gun, a drift-free space at the end of which there is an ion reflector, and a detector. The second and third flat electrodes of the source are made in the form of a grid, the first flat electrode is connected to a source of positive rectangular pulses, the second flat electrode is connected to a positive voltage source, and the third flat electrode is grounded. The electron gun is located in front of the first flat electrode made in the form of a grid.
EFFECT: increasing the resolution of mass spectrometry.
