TRAUMATIC-ACTION ACTIVE BULLET Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: ammunition for short-barreled and barrelles small arms, in particular, traumatic-action bullets for use in self-defense weapon.

SUBSTANCE: the bullet has a flexible envelope, hard core with an inner cavity and a propellant charge. The flexible envelope tightly fits the hard core, the core proper is reel-shaped, and the propellant charge is placed in the inner cavity of the core. The flexible envelope is made of a rubber mixture, and the core is made of steel. Diameter d₁ and thickness h₁ of the reel cheek fitting the bullet head section are larger than diameter d₂ and thickness h₂ of the cheek of the reel tail section, relationship d₁/d₂ equals 1.1 to 1.2, and relationship h₁/h₂ equals 3 to 4. The envelope is made thin and flexible so that reel cheek diameter d₁ is to bullet diameter d as d₂ equals 0.7 to 0.9.

EFFECT: enhanced stability of bullet flight and its strength characteristics, reduced recoil of the weapon and improved obturation at a shot.
