FIELD: textile industry.
SUBSTANCE: method includes preparing handful, its testing, and determining a factor which indicates the handful length. The testing is performed by passing the handful between the pair of rollers. The height of the longitudinal section is then measured in various zones along the handful, and the factor characterizing the mean length is determined. The factor is defined by the ratio of the area of the longitudinal section to its maximum length.
