FIELD: qualimetry of torn linen fibre.

SUBSTANCE: method for determining the technological value of torn flax fibre includes taking a sample in the form of a set of weights, testing them, determining a comprehensive quality depending on the physical and mechanical properties of the fibre and coefficients of variation for individual properties, and differs in that, in addition to the physical and mechanical properties of the fibre, the width is determined for fibrous complexes of end sections formed in the inter-clamp zone after uniaxial rupture of fibre samples, and the width is determined for a set of end sections when they are illuminated from below using a digital microscope with a computer by means of computer vision to calculate their average width based on measurements obtained at different places along the length of all analysed end sections, and when determining a comprehensive assessment of quality, along with the values of the physical and mechanical properties of the fibre and the width of the fibrous complexes, the value of the product of the coefficients of variation of the values of the breaking force and the width of the fibrous complexes is taken into account.

EFFECT: increasing the accuracy, objectivity and information content of the analysis results, reducing the duration of the test, as well as in assessing the ability of the fibre to split under mechanical stress.
