FIELD: investigating level or specific gravity of materials.
SUBSTANCE: method includes submerging a vibration unit at a given level in the fluid. The oscillation is excited in the vibration unit, and reaching a given level of filling is determined when vibration unit oscillates with a frequency characterizing by changing frequency with respect to the excitation frequency. The density of fluid is determined on the basis of the frequency of oscillation of the vibration unit. At least first and second types of oscillations of the vibration unit are analyzed. On the basis of the analysis of the oscillation types, the change of mass of the vibration unit is determined. The device has vibration unit, drive/receiving block, and control/processing block. The block of drive/receiving excites oscillations in the vibration unit with the use of a given frequency of excitation and receives the oscillation of the vibration unit. The block of control/processing determines when the level of filling reaches a given one by changing the frequency of oscillation, or the fluid density is determined on the basis of the variation of the frequency of oscillation of the vibration unit. The block of control/processing analyses at least first and second types of oscillations of the vibration unit and determines variation of mass of the vibration unit from the oscillation types processes.
