FIELD: thermal engineering.
SUBSTANCE: anode and cathode are placed in opposition in vacuum chamber. In the process vacuum chamber inner space is maintained in one of atmospheres of gaseous hydrogen, deuterium, helium, and argon. Then glow discharge is set up between anode and cathode at the same time admitting square-wave pulse current between anode and cathode. Such procedure enhances probability of reaction between nuclei of above-mentioned gases absorbed in cathode.
EFFECT: enlarged amount of generated energy compared with input energy; enhanced efficiency.
