FIELD: power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electric power engineering and hydrogen power engineering and can be used in heat and electric energy sources. Method involves generation of high-voltage pulse-periodic electric discharge between series-installed electrodes: anode (3) electrode, passive (6) electrodes – sharpeners of electric field and cathode (7) electrode made of hydride-forming metal, formation of vortex flow of water vapor (2, 7) along axis between electrodes, availability of heat exchanger (8), presence of gas-separator (9, 10) for hydrogen separation and storage. Device comprises ceramic pipe (1), electrode anode (3), passive electrodes (6) and cathode (7) made of hydride-forming metal, generator of vortex flow of steam (2, 7), as well as water heat exchanger-gate (8) and separator-gas holder (9, 10) for hydrogen storage. Conical electrode anode (3) is made of refractory material (for example, tungsten or molybdenum). Electrode cathode is made in the form of nozzle (7) with hole for outlet of hot steam and hydrogen. Passive electrodes – sharpeners (6) are made in form of cooled ogival bodies from refractory material (for example, tungsten). Electric power generator (4, 5) is configured to generate combined voltage including current power pulses and high-voltage ignition pulses.
EFFECT: high intensity of the process of simultaneous generation of heat energy and generation of cheap hydrogen.
