FIELD: laser engineering; data transfer and processing systems, laser location, and other industries.
SUBSTANCE: laser has cavity accommodating active element, polarizer, and radiation control device incorporating modulator and its control circuits. Modulator uses heat-correction circuit arrangement set up on two chips, electrical connection between these chips being open; first and second control circuits are connected to first and second chips, respectively. First control circuit is optically coupled with laser cavity and can rapidly change control voltage within characteristic time lower than that taken by beam to traverse over laser cavity τc; second control circuit is optically coupled with laser cavity and ensures control voltage response time longer than or equal to τc.
EFFECT: minimized control voltage for long-time generation of ultrashort pulse length comparable with time of laser using phototropic saturable absorber.
