FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: unregulated-frequency m-phase voltage is shaped across phase leads of unregulated ac generator. This voltage is rectified with aid of bridge rectifier and conveyed to load circuit. On occurrence of short circuit in load signal is shaped for changing over rectifier from full-wave to half-wave mode of operation; to this end dc voltage supply from one of rectifier outputs to respective output lead is interrupted and at the same time voltage is applied to this lead from neutral lead of generator winding.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability at load short circuit for same optimal mass and size characteristics.
