METHOD FOR OBTAINING A DENTAL GEL FOR PREVENTING AND TREATING STOMATOLOGICAL DISEASES Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: medicine, stomatology.

SUBSTANCE: the suggested method to obtain a dental gel containing micronized metronidasol benzoate and chlorohexidine gluconate is characterized by the following stages: a) dissolving the chelating agent and a sweetener in hot water at 65-70 C; b) dispersing 0.2-7 weight% polymer in a solution (a) at constant mixing at homogenization at obtaining homogeneous dispersion at 65-70 C followed by cooling up to 40 C; c) addition of anti-infectious agent at constant mixing for 15 min to solution (b); d) complete dissolving in a separate vial made of stainless steel at mixing an aromatizer, that is menthol, in 2-10 weight% substance to enhance penetration; e)fine reducing (micronizing) metronidasol benzoate due to applying it through a flow-type mill and addition of about 0.5-0.3 weight% of finely reduced (micronized) metronidasol benzoate at constant mixing to (e)-stage solution; g) neutralization of (e)-stage solution with alkali, that is sodium hydroxide up to pH being 5-6 to obtain homogeneous viscous gel. The method enables to obtain a dental gel that removes unpleasant odor from the mouth cavity, prevents and cures periodontal or dental diseases.
