SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to compositions for oral care, which are effective for inhibiting or reducing accumulation of dental plaque, reducing levels of acid-forming (cariogenic) bacteria, dental remineralisation and inhibiting or reducing gingivitis, and a method for use thereof. Two-phase mouthwash comprises a hydrophilic phase, a hydrophobic phase, a hydrotrope, a preserving agent, cetylpyridinium chloride (CPC) and phosphoric acid. Preserving agent includes a combination of potassium sorbate in amount of 0.07–0.3 % of the total weight of the mouth rinse, sodium benzoate in amount of 0.08–0.3 % of the total weight of the mouth rinse and benzyl alcohol in amount of 0.08–0.8 % of total weight of mouth rinse. Group of inventions also relates to a version of said mouth rinse, comprising as a preserving agent combination of 0.1 % potassium sorbate by weight of the mouth rinse, 0.1 % of sodium benzoate by weight of mouth rinse and 0.5 % of benzyl alcohol by weight of mouth rinse, as well as to a method for improving the healthy state of oral cavity by using an effective amount of said rinse with respect to the oral cavity of the individual in need thereof this.
