FIELD: transport engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method and device for control of engine output torque and, consequently, output speed of engine shaft are designed to protect vehicle differentials. Advantage of invention is calculation and checking of differences in rotational speeds, i.e. difference in rotational speeds in cross direction in vehicles of any type, namely, front, rear and all-wheel-drive vehicles, and in all-wheel-drive vehicles, difference in speeds of rotation of propeller shafts. If threshold values are exceeded, engine shaft rotational speed is automatically decreased to preset value. Such differential protection functional which cannot be switched off is present even at passively engaged drive torque control system. Said functional can be realized only at program level with use of provided pickups and controls.
EFFECT: provision of effective protection of differential and tires of vehicles.
